Nestled amongst the aberdeenshire countryside in north east scotland, this charming lodge is ideal for friends looking for the tranquillity and natural beauty of a rural break. sleeping four people in two king-size bedrooms, this lodge stands proudly at the entrance to the grand fasque house and estate, home of the gladstone family. with plenty of walks from your doorstep, you can explore the deer park, woodland and beyond, but be sure to pack your binoculars so you don’t miss the wonderful wildlife that resides here, such as deer, otters, eagles and red squirrels. the estate is situated on the outskirts of the village of fettercairn, home to some small shops, a pub and the fettercairn whisky distillery, where you can take a tour and enjoy a wee dram.
on entering, discard coats and boots in the porch before heading into the hallway. from here, the cosy lounge is to the right with an open fire – the perfect spot to snuggle on the sofa of an evening. heading into the kitchen/diner, you’ll find everything you need to cook up a hearty breakfast or evening meal, which can be enjoyed at the dining table. at the end of busy day, head into one of the king-size bedrooms for a good night’s sleep, both of which have feature fireplaces as a reminder of the property’s heritage. a family bathroom completes the accommodation with a shower over the bath.
