Just 2 miles from Ravenglass, the only coastal village in the Lake District, this gorgeous dog-friendly property enjoys stunning vistas of the surrounding fells just waiting to be discovered. Sleeping ten people across in four spacious and beautifully appointed bedrooms, there is as much to enjoy at home as there is in the surrounding area, with the use of a games room, en-suite facilities and inviting living areas with original features, perfect for those who need the run of a large property.
The two-storey property offers a plethora of original features including high ceilings, window shutters and fireplaces throughout its serene and beautifully lit interior, all complemented by carefully chosen soft furnishings that are enhanced by splashes of bold colours. The homely lounge/kitchen/diner, which leads into the garden and comes complete with wooden flooring and hanging lights, is open for long brunches or evening dinners that stretch into the wee small hours. Play pool in the games room or take one of the books from its library to pore over in front of the fire in the adjacent sitting room before everyone descends for a film or party games. Any food mishaps or slips in the garden can be easily solved by the nearby utility room. Expect a restful night’s sleep in one of the property’s four bedrooms - an en-suite king-size bedroom with an additional single bed, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and then a second king-size bedroom with an additional single bed. Those bedrooms without en-suite facilities have the use of a bathroom and a separate shower room. There will be plenty of room in the vast gardens for children and dogs to play, while an exploration of the grounds, home to myriad wildlife, is a great excuse for a morning walk. Answer the call of the hot tub after a long day walking the fells, or toast to the day around the fire pit on the patio.

this cottage can be found in the hamlet of grizebeck, just a couple of miles from kirkby-in-furness. surrounded by pretty countryside, grizebeck is an ideal little hamlet if you're looking for a break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. explore the quieter footpaths and hills nearby before stopping off at the hamlet's 300-year-old coaching inn for a hearty meal and refreshing drink. in nearby kirkby-in-furness, you'll find a post office with village shop, two pubs and the railway station. ulverston is only 6 miles away. the birthplace of stan laurel, ulverston has a long history as a bustling market town and has a wealth of independent shops and cafes.
both the lake district national park and beautiful south cumbrian coast are easily accessible from grizebeck. learn all about the history of the furness peninsula at dalton castle and furness abbey. spend a day exploring the nature reserves on walney island, depending on the timing of your visit there's plenty to see from a wide variety of birds to the grey seals who also like to visit this part of the cumbrian coast. head north into the lakes. the stunning valleys of eskdale and wasdale are sure to delight fans of fell walking, or head to coniston water for picturesque lakeshore walks.
the open-plan ground floor allows for easy, sociable living - just perfect in a holiday cottage for two. the living area has a leather two-seater sofa and two leather armchairs, ideal for relaxing evenings in. for entertainment there's a tv with freeview and dvd player. the large windows at the end of the living area mean you can gaze out at the view, even when the weather isn't on your side. at the other end of the room is the great well-equipped kitchen. there's an electric oven and gas hob, under counter fridge and separate under counter freezer, useful washing machine and a handy dishwasher - though you won't mind doing the washing up when you see the view from the kitchen sink! pull up a stool at the breakfast bar to dine in style.
up the stairs to the first floor. up here is the pretty double bedroom and modern bathroom. thanks to its two picture windows and two velux windows, the bedroom is lovely and light - you're sure to feel instantly relaxed in here. either side of the leather double bed is a handy bedside table and there's also a chest of drawers and built in cupboard with hanging space. a cream sofa positioned under one of the velux windows is the perfect spot to escape with a good book. as well as a wc and wash basin, the stylish modern bathroom contains a p-shaped bath with a shower over. reinvigorate tired muscles under the rainfall effect shower, or indulge in a long soak in the tub.
open the door from the living area to the delightful rear patio garden. a bistro table and chairs are provided, perfect for a spot of al fresco dining whilst enjoying the views over the surrounding pretty countryside. treat yourselves to a dip in the private hot tub, the perfect way to finish off your day!

head out on walks from the front door through the fells. pick up the cumbria way in the village or join the coast to coast route from rosthwaite to patterdale, a challenging 15-mile walk with rich birdlife and incredible scenery. for something more relaxing, hire a rowing boat on one of the lakes or visit black moss pot to go wild swimming, 1 mile away. if you want to leave your car at home, there’s a reliable bus service between keswick and seatoller that travels close to derwentwater passing through cat bells. keswick is on the edge of derwentwater (6.5 miles away), a haven for outdoor adventurers, it also has lots of shops and places to eat out. just 3 miles from the apartment is a spa with an outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna, steam rooms, and a romantic champagne bar.
