The property is situated in a rural spot within rolling countryside on the outskirts of the peak district national park. there are many quiet footpaths within walking distance of the property. the market town of ashbourne is within driving distance and with its narrow cobbled alleys, it is somewhat of a haven for antique hunters, boasting superb shops, as well as a variety of good pubs and restaurants. sudbury hall and the museum of childhood is very close by and offers a fascinating insight into days gone by. the dove and manifold valleys are also nearby, and both carsington water and alton towers are within a short drive, making this a wonderful location for relaxation and enjoyment all year round.

A romantic retreat for two, nestled in the pretty derbyshire village of south wingfield, with lots of local delights. less than a mile takes you to the hauntingly beautiful ruins of wingfield manor, and you will be spoilt for choice for eating out. four fabulous places to eat, all under a mile away and moorwood moor, less than two miles away, offers a gem of a place to eat and circular walks to enjoy. just 7 miles takes you to the tip of the peak district. expect dramatic scenery, bustling villages and a great array of days out. matlock (7 miles) has dramatic limestone cliffs and a lovers walk to explore the river derwent into matlock bath. cromford is just 6 miles away and is steeped in industrial history with some great level walks, including one by the canal.
the pod itself is luxurious in size, with beautiful stylish features, comfortable spaces and unique touches. a well-equipped kitchen with beautiful retro appliances sits in the open-plan living and dining area. there is soft seating, throws and accent cushions and beautiful lighting, all adding a creative flair. find the living moss sign inside and enjoy the light that the large arched doorway brings into this wonderful space. there is a well sized shower room that leads off from the living space. the bedroom has a comfortable double bed, a dressing table with hairdryer and side tables with lights.

A stunning luxurious glamping pod, designed for two, sitting in the pretty village of south wingfield. nestled less than a mile away from the hauntingly romantic ruins of wingfield manor, rolling countryside is ready to greet you at this beautiful property. perfectly located, there are four great places to eat within a mile and bordering close to the many stunning villages of the peak district. moorwood moor is just under two miles away and offers a classic derbyshire pub with a swirl of modernity to delight. a little further afield, just 7 miles takes you to the tip of the peak and into matlock and matlock bath. here you can explore dramatic limestone cliffs, perhaps peruse the many quirky shops and cafes of dale road and enjoy some of the wonderful surrounding derbyshire villages.
the pod itself is luxurious in size and finish, with wonderful creative flair shown inside and out. there are unique touches like a live moss sign, a living ivy privacy wall and some wonderful retro pieces in the kitchen. you enter into the open-plan living space, where you have soft comfortable seating with colour splashes and some great lighting features. there is a well-equipped kitchen just off from the soft seating area, and a shower room and bedroom leads off from the living space. the bedroom is set with a double bed, dressing table with a hairdryer and side tables.
outside, you can take a dip into the hot tub, whilst enjoying the rolling countryside views right in front of you. there is soft seating and a live ivy privacy wall, adding both to the rural setting and also the creative and unique flair that is present throughout.

This luxurious property is set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the river derwent and is surrounded by stunning wooded hills and cliffs. within walking distance there is an abundance of attractions such as gulliver's kingdom, the peak district mining museum, aquarium and arcades. visitors can take a ride on the heights of abraham cable car and take in the incredible views in style, whilst the more active are catered for with plentiful walking around the derwent valley. matlock bath also offers a selection of quality pubs, shops and coffee shops.
matlock bath lies just a short drive from the historic village of cromford, famous for its connections with sir richard arkwright and the birthplace of the industrial revolution. the mills and canal are a world heritage site. the splendid chatsworth house is close by, as well as rock climbing and cycling opportunities at carsington water and the high peak, monsal and tissington cycle trails.
after heading inside through the stone porch and double doors into the unique detached georgian grade ll listed former hotel you’ll be in the entrance hall. with its original parquet flooring and ornate cast iron radiator you’ll get the sense of elegance you would expect from this type of property, which has been wonderfully renovated to retain its original features, but also has a contemporary feel with its designer decor.

within the first-floor south wing you will find a lavish impeccable kitchen with two gas range ovens and hobs, three dishwashers, two microwaves, two kettles, two toasters, two washing machines and two american fridge/freezers with fresh ice and filtered water. bluetooth/usb/dab/cd music system. the kitchen island is a great social space where everyone can congregate. opposite the kitchen you can celebrate that special occasion in the impressive dining room (byron room) with ample seating for all guests and stunning views of riber castle, the limestone cliffs, the river derwent and down to the village below. the property has had numerous distinguished people cross its threshold, including lord byron, who was so moved by his visit to the temple that he was inspired to etch a poem on the dining room window. queen victoria visited when a young princess and signed the same pane. next to this room is the cosy snug with comfy seating and a smart tv/dvd. adjoining the kitchen is the exquisite lounge bar with dishwasher, bottle fridge and under counter sink ideal for the perfect stay. linking into this room is the stunning main lounge with seating for everyone and with a wall of glass windows providing panoramic views of the cliffs and river below and really give this room the wow factor! this room has a large smart tv/dvd and bluetooth/usb/dab/cd music system. a wood burning stove provides that cosy feel. the front of the historic property is approached through a stone patio, from where you will find a border shrub garden with seating area, superbly located in two acres of hillside with delightful views at all angles. heading to the main garden spend lazy afternoons relaxing by the two hot tubs and taking in the fantastic views. perfectly suited to enjoy al fresco dining with the two charcoal bbq’s on warm summer nights. there are multiple seating areas to choose from so take your pick where you’d like your morning cup of tea. there is off-road parking for up to 20 cars in the car parking area opposite and in the adjoining large car park to the side, there is roadside parking is also available, subject to availability.
